The Wisdom Behind Our Differences

The Ayah

نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَاتٍ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًا سُخْرِيًّا وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:32)

Allah says He has distributed people's livelihood in this world and raised some above others in ranks — so that some of them can serve others.

People Are Not the Same

Not everyone is equal. Some are strong, some are weak. Some have knowledge, some don't. Some are skilled, some struggle. Some are well-known, some remain unknown. Some have wealth, some have very little. Some hold high status, others live quietly.

These differences aren't random.

Why These Differences Exist

If Allah had made everyone equal in every way i.e. same strength, same knowledge, same money, same position, then no one would need anyone else. There would be no reason for people to help or serve one another. Society would fall apart.

The differences create interdependence. That is how human life keeps moving.

A Final Reminder

And at the end of the ayah, Allah reminds us: His mercy is far better than all the wealth people keep gathering.
